Boots and Macmillan Launch A New Beauty Service

Macmillan’s research found that those having cancer treatment would welcome beauty advice on how to deal the visible side effects, so they’ve teamed up with Boots to offer a new service.

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the beauty counters are pink all over with product supporting breast cancer charities, some of which we have previously featured. But for those undergoing treatment for cancer, where can they get advice on how to manage the visible side-effects of their treatment?

Macmillan Cancer Support canvassed opinion from their online forums and found that those undergoing treatment would welcome advice from a trained beauty advisor. Having teamed up with Boots last year to provide support via Boots pharmacists, they’ve now developed an in-depth training programme for Boots No7 advisors at selected stores, covering the best products and techniques to minimise the visible side-effects of cancer treatments. Discreet, one-to-one consultations are available and cover side-effects such as the loss of eyebrows and eyelashes, deeper wrinkles, dry or sensitive skin and brittle nails.

More information on this service can be obtained via Macmillan.
