Bath and Body Christmas Gifts

Christmas Gift Guide Day Two

4723-014723_groupimageritualoflightI think bath and body gifts should feel luxurious (although they don’t always need to have a luxe price tag – I’ll be looking at the very best on the High Street later in the month). I’m more of a shower person than a bath person, normally using whatever shower gel is on special offer, so I’m always delighted when someone gifts me something which feels lovely on my skin and makes the bathroom smell amazing. This year, these products make the cut.

Rituals always make something gorgeously scented for Christmas and this year it’s their limited edition Ritual of Light collection, fragranced with sweet orange and cinnamon. I particularly liked the Shower Foam (£8.50) which lathers into a really rich mousse – there’s also a body scrub, bath foam, body cream and home fragrance.

For a bath lover Therapie’s Joie bath infusion (£48) is a unusual treat that smells beautiful and comes in a reassuringly hefty glass jar. It’s a powder that both softens and exfoliates – don’t expect loads of bubbles – and with frankincense and cedar wood is perfect for a cold January evening. We’ve no doubt recommended Aromatherapy Associates bath oils before, but no apologies for recommending them again this year. I use them for both bath and shower, and add a few drops to cheap supermarket body cream to make it feel more luxe. Selections of the small bottles start at £34 for 3, with the Ultimate Bath Collection of 10 small bottles at £60.

If you want to give a gift that recreates the ‘spa’ feel at home, ESPA have a fabulous range of bath and body products and I think the Bergamot and Jasmine foam bath and body lotion set (£33) would be a particularly lovely thing to have on hand on the 27th December, when you may need to retreat to the bathroom and slam the door on any relatives that are staying over. Add candles and relaxing music of choice.

Kiehls products are always a massively treaty thing to find under the tree and this year they’ve done a lovely collaboration with illustrator Jeremyville. The Creme de Corps is £36 – the kind of thing you’d never buy for yourself but such a cheering gift to receive. L’Occitane also have fabulous gift sets for Christmas, and their hand and body lotions are completely brilliant. For someone who’s never tried them before, their Shea Discovery Set (£20) is a great way to try the brand or there’s a ‘Best of’ collection for £68.

Finally, Laura Mercier Creme Brulée body creme and shower gel are lovely if you like a gourmand scent. They’ve also got a set of small sizes for all the body cremes for anyone that likes a touch of everything sweet.
