The BBC’s Glastonbury presenter tell us exactly what she’ll be packing in this year’s vanity kit
I’m really looking forward to Glastonbury this year. My schedule is pretty packed – I’m covering the festival for TV and radio, with several shows a day – and there are always unexpected jobs that crop up. You never know where you’ll be next. Last year, I ended up hosting a press conference for Dolly Parton five minutes after interviewing Metallica, so it’s definitely not your typical day at the office.
If I was at a festival purely for fun, I’d take the bare essentials, but with multiple shows and not much sleep (my Saturday schedule starts at 8am and finishes at 2am, for example!), I like to take plenty of products that will keep me looking and feeling perky all weekend. It’s a lot of skincare and then glitter on top, basically. So this is my kitchen sink selection!
Clarins Day Screen High Protection Emulsion SPF 40, £31
I’m outside all day, so invisible sun protection is absolutely essential.
Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation, £39
Treats and protects skin while giving light, moisturising coverage. Smells gorgeous, too.
Clinique Airbrush Concealer, £19
I do get dark circles when I’m tired. My makeup artist Liz Beckett keeps them at bay with this genius stuff.
Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo, £22
Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Oil, £19.50
Both really take care of my hair, which has a lot of heat styling, weather and colour to put up with (in general, but especially over Glastonbury weekend). If my hair is feeling frazzled I’ll rub a couple of drops of the oil through the lengths of my hair, chuck it in plaits and pin them up to give it a break.
Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Denim Ink, £18
My summer essential. Brighter and more wearable than black, and it lasts all day. Love!
MAC Individual lashes 30 Lash, £10.50
I tend to wear individual lashes for telly, as your own can get a bit lost against the lights and heavy eye makeup.
Collection Glam Crystal Gel Eyeliner, £2.99
My makeup artist Liz will often use these over the Bobbi gel liners for added festival sparkle. They’re cheap and ace.
Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish in Baker St and Soho Place, £15 each,
I’ll always do bright mani and pedi before I go – Nails Inc gel polishes in bright green or blue are my favourite at the moment.
Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Colour in Cosmic Raspberry, £19.50
I love a really fuchsia pink lip in summer. These are my go-tos. Bobbi’s Cosmic Raspberry is a bright, flattering, hot pink, while Nars Schiap is more neon and punk rock.
Clinique Lash Power Mascara, £18
An ultra long lasting mascara that literally does not budge, flake or go anywhere it’s not supposed to, come rain or shine.
Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk, £8
Sali got me onto hot cloth cleansing, which has transformed my skin. So I’ll be taking enough flannels to last the weekend and this delicious cleanser that smells minty, peachy and is totally refreshing even at 4am when your makeup has been baked onto your face by studio lights.
Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser, £42
My moisturiser of choice. Fabulous for sensitive, dehydrated skin.
Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash, £2.59
I always take a gorgeous body wash to use with my Soap & Glory scrub gloves (£4) and a seriously moisturising body oil. When I’ve been filming I always have a hot shower and take off every scrap of makeup and moisturise before I crash out, even if it’s 4am. It’s my way of getting rid of the live telly adrenaline.
Chloe Love Story Eau de Parfum, £47
My current ‘fume jam.
