Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner, £5.29
I’ve used Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner in Black every day since I was 13. It’s amazing – it dries really quickly after you’ve applied it and is also matte, which I love. You can go to a disco all night in it. I’ve tried more expensive brands like MAC Fluidline, but this lasts for ages and I always, always go back to it.
Black Orchid –Tom Ford, from £50
I discovered this perfume at the model and performance artist Amanda Lepore’s apartment in New York last year. Her hairdresser was wearing it and gave it to me as a gift. It’s the first perfume I’ve found that I think smells amazing on both men and women – it’s really sexy. I used to wear Chanel’s Coco but for some reason this makes me feel more grown up and ‘done’. I wear it every day and I only have half a bottle left so I’m a bit worried!
Dianne Brill Lip Lingerie liner in Chiffon Garter, EUR 16.50
I am obsessed with Dianne Brill and her make-up has some of my favourite packaging. It’s really kitsch and gorgeous. Diane sent me a few products last year and I really love them, but my favourite has to be the Lingerie lip liner, a strong, matte red, which comes in an old pink cigar case that stops it getting wrecked in your handbag. It gives a perfect line and goes on smoothly but I really love that it has a little lip brush on one end because I wear it all over the lip.
Alchemy lipstick in Melrose in March
My friend Barbara Alcazar, a hairdresser from New York, has just started this great new brand called Alchemy cosmetics and sells it from her salon in Bushwick. Barbara sent me some of her lipsticks and I fell in love with a baby pink one called Melrose in March, which is a beautiful colour and really wearable. It’s a proper Jayne Mansfield colour, who I aspire to look like every day.
Burts Bees lip gloss in Summer Twilight, £8.99
I haven’t left the house without lipstick in ten years and used to wear a strong red lip every day. After while I found this was too strong for castings so wanted to find something natural and glossy but with a bit of colour so I didn’t look drained. I was given this as a gift and thought the colour was gorgeous. It’s just enough for everyday and I can chuck it on if I’m just off to Asda. I don’t mind if my hair looks shit but I’m not going out without lipstick.
YSL Babydoll mascara in Black, £24.50
This is a newbie in my make-up bag and I love it because it gives you massive lashes and the brush applies lots of product, which I really love. The gorgeous gold packaging is what made me try it in the first place – it’s a bit posh and I also love the name ‘babydoll’. It’s so me.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid, £21.50
I’ve worn MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation every day for years because I’m always really busy and end up with a sweaty face after running around all day. All my friends used to wear it and recommended it to me It’s the only thing I’ve found to stay on all day and night.
Burt’s Bees Almond & Milk hand cream, £9.99
This cream comes with me everywhere and I apply it constantly. It contains almond milk and is really nourishing but my favourite thing about it is that it smells of marzipan and amaretto, like a cake, so I always want to be wearing it.
