Sali Loves: Style Me Vintage: Weddings

Style Me Vintage Weddings

Vintage lovers, make-up artists, upcoming brides, nosey parkers – here’s your guide.

Whether you’re planning your wedding or, like me, you’ve already done it and have no intention of going there again, or even if you’re just caught up in this whole Great Gatsby moment, Style Me Vintage: Weddings will probably make you a bit dribbly. Wedding blogger Annabel Beeforth’s new book is a practical guide to vintage bridal looks, from Edwardian era ruffles and rosebud lips, to 1970s glamour and glossy highlighter, via Mad Men wiggle dresses and black liner flicks. It’s a brilliant resource for budding bridal make-up artists, as well as anyone looking to plan a vintage-themed wedding, and features loads of clear, useful photographs (looks are wisely adapted from the wholly authentic to classic make-up designs that won’t date your photo albums, and never veer into fancy dress), as well as loads of cool ideas and specialist contacts. Most of all, I enjoyed the real life weddings sections, featuring genuine photos from various vintage brides, but then I am exceptionally nosy – seriously, I look at entire wedding albums on Facebook, featuring a bride, groom and 200 guests I have never met in my life. If that rings any bells, buy this book.
