The bit at the end where Tony asks her not to interfere with her lovely face is one of the most heart-warming, cheering, lovely things I’ve heard all week. What lovely people.

  • edieinberlin

Love your black dress with the white collar, Sali. The usual question…. where did you get it from!?

    • Debra Brock
      • edieinberlin

        Thanks Debra! 🙂

      • Ceridwen

Sorry for me duplicating this question above. I did ask about the boots too though in my defence as being not a total duplicator.

  • Malcolm Neach Álvarez

Oh, what a wonderful video! Really cheering and warm. It’s great to listen (and see) two lovely women talk intelligently about makeup and the things they like. Thanks for this.

  • Heather

Absolutely GORGEOUS video. Adore Marian. Longing to sit like a little girl would and play in her make up drawers putting everything into sets of matching colours, stacks of palettes ordered by preciousness… I could play all day! Utterly pleasing to see two clever successful women talking about the Joy (capital intentional) of having/touching/using/owning these things. Love it.

    • Margaret QoL

Me too. Itching to get some Muji organisers into that bathroom.

  • Greenjadedragon

What a lovely cheering video, and JOY! there’s another one yet to watch 🙂 I was itching to play with and organise Marian’s drawers with some lovely dividers though. And that’s not a lot of makeup, fairly normal I would say ;p

    • Margaret QoL

That’s hardly any make up. Where are the other half-dozen palettes?

  • Margaret QoL

Loved this. She’s so full of joie de vivre and keen to learn. Great how she names where she goes, small firms and pharmas, sales assistants. So gracious.

  • lovestruck

    wiggle…..wiggle…..wiggle…..wiggle….

  • Bekahbea

I’ve loved every single one of the In the Bathroom series, but Marian is far and away my favourite participant. She’s funny, fabulous, and utterly lovable. Can’t wait for the SHOES!

  • kateyb

That was just wonderful, thank you both so much. Marian does have the most lovely twinkly face and beautiful skin too. Cannot wait for the shoes vid.

    • Ceridwen

Twijnkly is a great word & really describes Marian.

  • Rooty Tooty

I was nodding along so much to this video. Hating the sun, being a good brush convert, liking your face more when you’re older, that navy shadow in the quad being perfect. And I teared up a bit at the bit where she has decided not get the cosmetic procedure at her husband’s request. Knowing you are loved like that is so precious. <3 Marion (and Tony now).

  • Sue

Loved this so much. Marion is just so lovely, natural and honest. My favourite In the Bathroom so far.

  • Ceridwen

Both women seem lovely, warm and beautiful.
Sali, I love your dress & boots. Where are they from? Sorry if this has been asked before.
Marian, your books are great reads, particulary liked ‘This Charming Man’.

  • betsymartian

Oh cliffhanger endings! This was another lovely video, I love the make-up drawers which look like a more upmarket version of the baskets in my bathroom, and I love hearing about all the bits of why Marian loves what she loves, how she feels about the colours and the feel and the sight of things. And lovely, lovely Tony, what a wonderful couple they must be to spend time with.

  • widowspider

What an absolute joy Marian is. So warm, funny and honest. Love love love her. And her Tony sounds like an utter gent.

  • Veronica Kaneti

Thank you for this. Now for Part 3, 4, 5…

  • Elmyra

Oh wow… This is by far the best video I’ve seen, I just loved it so much. It felt like being in a girlfriend’s house and snooping about (in a nice way). And Sali, thank you for making us the make up enthusiasts feel better about our selves. No, we’re not wasting our money, and yes, it really IS a hobby. I also love Marion for being so open and honest about her illness, in a world where it’s still such a taboo. Make up has lifted me up through a similar period and I’m grateful to Sali for it.

Keep up the brilliant work you do, you lovely, lovely women. The world is a much better place with positive, creative people like you.

  • Pippi L. Stocking

What an absolute joy it is watching Marion – by far my most favourite In the Bathroom. She is so warm and funny and fabulous. I was so much in agreement about the summer/winter thing. The day the clocks go forward is a THE worst day of the year and makes me thoroughly depressed. I hate bloody light nights when you feel you’ve got to do something. No, feck off – I want to lie on my settee under a blanket and watch TV thank you very much. And the final bit about Tony totally made me cry – so, so lovely. Can she be my new best friend please? Can’t wait for part three.

  • Tiziana

Great to be able to watch another heart-warming video!

Marian reminds me of an Irish colleauge who went back home after spending more than 30 years in my country, who I miss so much. Thank you Sali.

  • Katie Howe

I love Marion Keyes. I think she is an absolute hoot and this interview is complete genius. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • Susan s

What a lovely person Marian is, fab video.
Also, I loved the look of excitement on Sali’s face at finding a new product!

  • Aine

Would love to know which spf spa she recommends xxx

  • Annelie

Finally had time to sit down and watch this, and god I love her. I was in stitches when she said “Oh feck, here comes the bright evenings again” and in tears when she said her husband had asked her not to interfere with her face. Lovely, lovely video.

  • Mamuna

I need part three of this with the shoe collection. I just need it. Loved this video so much!

  • Lala

Did I miss the bit where Marion shares what lip colour she’s wearing in the video? Thank you
